For those of us in Gen-X and Gen-Y, we’ve gone from having a lack of options available to us in 2000, to being overwhelmed by options available to us in 2022.
Authors wrote in the neighborhood of 1,000,000 books this year alone.
While I used to enjoy the role of being the most read, I’ve re-evaluated how and what I read. Life is too short to read bad books. Therefore, almost all books I read these days come as recommendations from trusted individuals in my network. I’ve found the tradeoff, from being first to read a book to reading a higher quality of books overall, freeing.
In 2022, these books rose to the top.
